How long have you been modeling, and what was your inspiration to get started with modeling?

I had my first taste of modeling when I walked in a local fashion show for Fashion Bug in sixth grade. However, it wasn’t until I was working while attending college that I was scouted several times. With encouragement from my family, including my aunt who is a photographer, I decided to give modeling another try. After a few shoots I realized it was something that I really enjoyed, and I have been modeling ever since!

What makes you unique as a model, or what are your modeling strengths?

What makes me unique as a model is my versatility and confidence. I have the ability to offer many different looks, from natural to glamour to sophisticated. I tend to be very easy to work with and my comfort and confidence shows in my pictures. As far as my look goes, I was blessed with the strength of intense, brown eyes, full lips, a nice smile and olive skin.

If you could see yourself published on the cover of any magazine, which would that be?

If it was a magazine, I would say Harpers Bazaar. I love the style of the magazine’s cover, it is always classic and beautiful.

Where do you see your modeling career headed one year from now? Five years from now?

In the next year I hope to continue to make connections in the industry and build up my portfolio. Five years from now I hope to have a well established portfolio and resume, and to have made a name for myself in the modeling industry.

Do you have a favorite genre/style of modeling?

I definitely lean towards editorial/fashion modeling rather than studio. I think photo shoots that are outdoors or in public places ultimately make for the best capture. Having objects to work with, whether it is trees, or a street lamp, or a park bench, gives me a lot more versatility in my posing and adds an component that everyone looking at the picture can relate to. It also adds an element of surprise when you are working outside of a studio, and sometimes unplanned events or people showing up in your shot can add a touch of realism and take the photograph to a whole new level.

Have you had to travel much, to pursue modeling opportunities?

Yes, coming from a rural area of Wisconsin, I frequently travel to Chicago and Milwaukee for work. I was prepared for traveling when I began this journey. I knew I wouldn’t find opportunities like, being one of the faces of LA Tan or appearing as a model on the Steve Harvey Show, in a small town like mine. So it has definitely always been worth it! I have had many wonderful opportunities and met so many great people, and I am always learning something new on each assignment.

Tell us a little about your health and beauty routines to stay looking your best:

Staying healthy is one of the most important things in a model’s lifestyle. It is important to me to incorporate exercise in my day at least five days a week. I follow a vegetarian diet, and have since I was about ten years old. When I want to look my absolute best I try to follow a raw, vegan lifestyle. By consuming mostly raw foods like fruits and vegetables, your body functions at its absolute best, leaving you looking slim with glowing skin, shiny hair, and just looking happier overall.

Do you have a favorite photo shoot, or funny/interesting photo shoot story you’d like to share?

One of my most interesting photo shoots took place at the Milwaukee Zoo. We originally went to use the carousel as the setting and ended up being able to shoot with a live camel! It was exciting to say the least.

When you’re not modeling, what can we find you doing?

I have always been a people person. I grew up in the restaurant/hospitality industry, so I always find myself going back to my roots. This summer I had the opportunity to work for the Midwest’s prestigious golf courses in Kohler, WI which has lead to a few more opportunities in the modeling industry.

In my free time you can find me working out, playing volleyball, learning to surf and snowboard, rescuing kittens, and like any other girl, shopping!

Please share a favorite quote:

A quote I try to live by (as I should since I have it on my body permanently) is HAKUNA MATATA. It means no worries.

Is there any special message you would like to leave for your fans?

I really want to thank everybody for supporting me in this, especially when it comes to the social networking. Its really awesome to see people taking the time to cast their vote for me and shows they really support me. Im also grateful for all of the photographers who took a chance on me when I first began; I know it can be difficult and risky working with a rookie model.
